Vehicle Evading Law Enforcement Crashes into Florida Nightspot, Leaving 4 Deceased and 11 Hurt

A speeding vehicle while fleeing police crashed into a busy nightspot early on Saturday, killing four people and injuring eleven in a historic neighborhood of Florida, known for its nightlife and tourists.

An air surveillance unit with the local law enforcement agency spotted the car driving recklessly on a freeway at about just after midnight after police stated the silver sedan had been seen street racing in another neighborhood, according to a police department statement.

The Florida highway patrol intercepted the vehicle and attempted to perform a tactic that entails striking a back fender of a escaping vehicle to make it to spin out, known as a pit, but it was ineffective.

Highway patrol personnel “disengaged” as the vehicle raced toward the historic Ybor City area near the city center, Tampa authorities reported. Eventually, the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle and struck more than a dozen individuals near the bar, officials said.

3 victims perished at the location and a fourth victim succumbed at a medical facility.
