Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Year of Consistency
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka competed in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.
She earned almost eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
