England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The show will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
