Ten individuals sentenced of cyber-bullying against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has convicted ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The those on trial faced accusations of disseminating fabrications regarding her gender identity and sexual orientation, in addition to making malicious remarks about the husband and wife's age disparity of 24 years.

The court handed down suspended jail terms of up to eight months to the convicted individuals. The full ruling has yet to be released.

A circulating conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has been in circulation since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.

This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons initiating a legal action for defamation in the United States against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's gender.

Their complaint contends that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence disproving her claim in favour of platforming known conspiracy theorists.

Owens has often echoed these allegations on her digital program and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would risk all her credibility on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.

Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her now-husband when she was a teacher at his secondary school.

The two tied the knot in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was 54.
